Ingredients

20 ml milk

25 ml (1 shot) espresso

to taste cocoa powder

to taste sugar

Step by step

  1. Espresso Macchiato means "marked" or "stained" espresso in Italian. The espresso is first poured into the glass, followed by a small amount of steamed milk and foam. Great for those who love a rich, bold taste!

  2. Froth the milk into a "microfoam" that is nearly double the volume of the original milk, using the steam wand.

  3. Prepare the shot of Espresso in your favourite cup.

  4. Top the espresso with a dollop of frothed milk.

  5. Add a sprinkle of cocoa according to taste and serve.

  6. For a dairy free option, use oat milk.
