1. Choose your base - Your smoothie needs a liquid base. Otherwise, you’ll end up with thick, chunky goo. Think water, milk, milk alternative, coconut water, or yoghurt.
2. Add fruit and vegetables - Fresh or frozen? Either will work. Some of our favourite smoothie fruits are berries, bananas, mangoes, and pineapples. Want an extra nutritional boost? Sneak in some greens too. Look for vegetables that don’t overpower the taste of your fruit – like spinach, kale, avocado or cucumber. 5. Let your blender finish the job - Smooth and creamy. Not too thick, not too thin. That’s the consistency you’re after. So be sure to blend the ingredients at a high speed. If you have a K400 blender, switch it to the special Smoothie setting and you’re good to go.
